What makes a credit union different
Owned by members
Every member has one vote in electing the board of directors, however much is on deposit.
Not for profit
There are no outside shareholders to pay, so the credit union is run for the people who bank here.
Federally insured
Deposits are insured by NCUA, an agency of the U.S. government, up to $250,000 per member, per ownership category.
